Anamaria is an Romanian actress. Her screen debut was with Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film, for which she won the British Academy Television Award as the most outstanding actress. She is fluent in French, German English, as well as Romanian. Her mother played the violin and her father is a theater professor in one of the best Romanian drama schools. She won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year 2000 in The Mangalia Young Actor Gala. She was named European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in 2008. In 2007, her performance of Cristian Mungiu's Romanian art film 4 luni, 3 weeks, 2 zile (4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days) was awarded the Palme d'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival 2007 and two additional awards: the Cinema Prize for the French National Education System as well as the FIPRESCI Prize. Also, she appeared as young in the film of Francis Ford Coppola's Youth Without Youth. She was also in 2008 as Yasim Anwar on the BBC Five-episode miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca starred in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. In the film Fury (2014), she performed the role of Irma who was a German woman who was Emma's aunt.
